The Truman House

The Truman House is a traditional condo building that was the residence of Harry Truman between 1941-1945. Located at the corner of Connecticut Avenue and Chesapeake Street in Forest Hills, the 5-story building was delivered in 1927, offering 50 residences. Pet-friendly, many of the apartments in The Truman have been recently renovated to include upgrades such as new flooring, and modern conveniences in the kitchens and bathrooms. The closest Metro Station to Truman House is Van Ness UDC.

Van Ness East Condominium

One of the largest condominium complexes in Washington Metro is Van Ness East. Completed in 1964, this multi-winged structure is located in DC’s Forest Hills neighborhood. With 433 residences, the development was designed in the International style with balconies for each unit. There are a variety of floor plans, from studios measuring around 473 square feet to three-bedroom city homes at around 1521 square feet.

Van Ness North

The structure is 16 stories tall, built into a hillside overlooking a tributary of Rock Creek Park. It is a mix of efficiencies, one, two and three bedroom units, some with dens and multiple bathrooms. Many have balconies. Originally consisting of 466 units, a few apartments have been combined.To the north is Soapstone Valley Park, and to the east is Van Ness East (a condominium), and Rock Creek Park. To the south is Van Ness South (a rental property), and to the west is an office/retail structure (including a Giant grocery store) facing Connecticut Avenue, N.W. The Van Ness/UDC Metro station (East exit) on the Red Line is one block from Van Ness North at the corner of Connecticut Avenue and Veazey Terrace, N.W.
